I am a genius!

Sunday afternoon I am driving to Dallas and staying three days for Seminar. I hadn't heard about Seminar until I signed my Mary Kay contract. Well, on of the nights is a formal. The only formal dress I own is a red dress that I wore at my friend Taarna's wedding (bridesmaid). Well, about two months ago I was repainting my bedroom and accidentally got little tiny white spots of paint along the side of it. I saw what had happened and thought, Oh well.. when am I ever going to wear this dress again?
Well, I felt really stupid this morning while I was digging through my closet looking for a formal dress. I have absolutely no money to go out and by a new one. I was running errands today wallowing in self pity for having to go to a formal event wearing a red dress with little white spots along the side of it.
This is the part where I thank the wonderful people that make Sharpie markers. Yes I know I sound like a lunatic for doing this but what else was I supposed to do? Besides it's only on tiny little white spots... Smarter not harder...

We had another earthquake this morning (this is the 3rd in less than a year). I know for some, this means nothing.... "Whoopty doo! I have one a week at least..." But for me, this means "Aaaaaaggghhh!"
I am used to giant wind funnels tunneling down from the sky, not the earth shaking underneath me.

back to school....

On the 15th I am going to register for school. I am so excited. I AM FINALLY GOING BACK TO COLLEGE!!! It almost makes me want to cry. I am going to have to take out a crap load of a student loan, but oh well. I'm finishing damnit! I will still have to work part-time, but that doesn't bother me. All I need is enough to make my car payment and insurance.
I am going back into nursing. Hopefully make it to RN. *crossing fingers*

One of my coworkers brought me a huge bag of crawfish. I haven't had these in
forever... Yummy!

Browsing (again)....

Why don't people discipline their kids anymore?

This is something I've been wanting to blog about for the longest time but never have. After today, I am definitely going to.

At work I see numerous parents letting their kids get away with murder. These kids are talking back, kicking, screaming, and even swearing at their parents. Every time I glance at the parent after witnessing their child at like a complete hellion, the parent just stares down or sighs in defeat.
Well, I don't know about you all, but my parents would have murdered me in cold blood if I ever hit, kicked, or swore at them. When I was a kid I was spanked when I acted up. Why don't parents do this anymore? Why don't parents at least use any form of discipline anymore?
I know "spanking" is a controversial subject for some, but I grew up with it. I wasn't beaten, I didn't get bruises or broken bones... I just learned to obey. Nowadays, people will rule you out as a child abuser. I'm sorry but my child will wear their pants around their waist, my child will not ever lay a hand on me (and live), my child will not use profanity towards me or any respectable adult, and my child will be raised to respect people around them.

Comment please. I want your opinions on this.

Derek's Birthday

My boyfriend Derek's Birthday is coming up on the 14th. We are a new couple so I was pretty unsure of what to get him. I decided to ask a longtime friend of mine Peter (also Derek's best friend). He said to get him a video game. Preferably "Halo Wars." I personally think a video game is a little impersonal and when I asked Peter, his reply was, "How much more personal can you get?"

Maybe it's a "guy thing".....

Derek is also a Type 1 diabetic so he can't eat cake. This problem is still floating around in my brain. I've already taken it upon myself to Google diabetes (my philosophy on everything--- Goggle it!). I didn't learn anything more than Derek has already explained to me. I don't know, maybe I'll bake him a "sugar-free" cake.

Derek really has been growing on me quite a bit. He's the only guy I've ever dated that is as much of a dork as I am. He doesn't care that I play World of Warcraft, it doesn't bother him that I burp anytime the slightest bit of soda is present, and he doesn't mind (too much) that I occasionally drink and end up singing Cyndi Lauper on karaoke night.

Things I would LOVE to say to customers...

* Don't stand next to the ATM and then proceed to ask me where it is. There is a huge yellow sign that says "ATM" on it. Open your eyes and look.

* Prepay means prepay. That doesn't mean come in and tell me to turn the damn pump on. Ain't going to happen.

* No, I am not a piece of white trailer trash that has five kids, on welfare, and working at a gas station. I live in an average neighborhood, have no kids, have served in the military and have been to college. No, I did not flunk out, I just cannot finish any of my degrees that
I started thanks to our wonderful economy.

* Get your kid away from the icee machine.

* That is a mop bucket not a trash can.

* Those big numbers above the pumps are so I know where to turn the gas on at. FYI there are four white trucks "over there." Be more specific.

* Get off your cell and talk to me like a normal human being before I punch you in the face.

* Yes my day is going well. Could you please clean up after yourself?

* Throw money at me one more time and I will jump over this counter...

New puter! ;)

Due to the crashing of the "Crap Top" I have not been able to do any posts, so I apologize for that. I tried to do a post with the crackberry, but I had no luck with that one. I finally went out and bought a desktop. This thing is way better than the crap top ever was... more space, faster, less bs.... Love it!
