It's been awhile....

Wow, I can not believe how long it has been since I have been on here blogging. Well, my last post was before Seminar last year. I do not do Mary Kay anymore but Seminar was a blast. A few months after Seminar I realized that I love buying makeup but not so much selling it. Although I was my own best customer! LOL.
I am currently attending school. I am getting my Associates in Computer Networking. So far I am really enjoying it. I currently have a 4.0 GPA (woot!) and I am very dedicated to school.
Derek and I broke up. Our relationship ended up being a little one-sided. Not my thing.
I am currently seeing someone a little more intriguing. Nothing serious (yet), but I am pretty excited to see where this one goes.

I am a genius!

Sunday afternoon I am driving to Dallas and staying three days for Seminar. I hadn't heard about Seminar until I signed my Mary Kay contract. Well, on of the nights is a formal. The only formal dress I own is a red dress that I wore at my friend Taarna's wedding (bridesmaid). Well, about two months ago I was repainting my bedroom and accidentally got little tiny white spots of paint along the side of it. I saw what had happened and thought, Oh well.. when am I ever going to wear this dress again?
Well, I felt really stupid this morning while I was digging through my closet looking for a formal dress. I have absolutely no money to go out and by a new one. I was running errands today wallowing in self pity for having to go to a formal event wearing a red dress with little white spots along the side of it.
This is the part where I thank the wonderful people that make Sharpie markers. Yes I know I sound like a lunatic for doing this but what else was I supposed to do? Besides it's only on tiny little white spots... Smarter not harder...

Earthquake.

We had another earthquake this morning (this is the 3rd in less than a year). I know for some, this means nothing.... "Whoopty doo! I have one a week at least..." But for me, this means "Aaaaaaggghhh!"
I am used to giant wind funnels tunneling down from the sky, not the earth shaking underneath me.

back to school....

On the 15th I am going to register for school. I am so excited. I AM FINALLY GOING BACK TO COLLEGE!!! It almost makes me want to cry. I am going to have to take out a crap load of a student loan, but oh well. I'm finishing damnit! I will still have to work part-time, but that doesn't bother me. All I need is enough to make my car payment and insurance.
I am going back into nursing. Hopefully make it to RN. *crossing fingers*

Why don't people discipline their kids anymore?

This is something I've been wanting to blog about for the longest time but never have. After today, I am definitely going to.

At work I see numerous parents letting their kids get away with murder. These kids are talking back, kicking, screaming, and even swearing at their parents. Every time I glance at the parent after witnessing their child at like a complete hellion, the parent just stares down or sighs in defeat.
Well, I don't know about you all, but my parents would have murdered me in cold blood if I ever hit, kicked, or swore at them. When I was a kid I was spanked when I acted up. Why don't parents do this anymore? Why don't parents at least use any form of discipline anymore?
I know "spanking" is a controversial subject for some, but I grew up with it. I wasn't beaten, I didn't get bruises or broken bones... I just learned to obey. Nowadays, people will rule you out as a child abuser. I'm sorry but my child will wear their pants around their waist, my child will not ever lay a hand on me (and live), my child will not use profanity towards me or any respectable adult, and my child will be raised to respect people around them.

Comment please. I want your opinions on this.
